We specialize in hour-long, off-leash walks. A tired dog makes for a happy owner! In addition to exercise, the dogs in our pack work on social skills such as staying together in a group, coming when called, and being well-mannered on the trails. Northampton/Easthampton *you must live within 20 minutes of Northampton* *Sarah’s Pet Services is the premier off leash dog hiking and pet care service in the Pioneer Valley. Dog hikers take packs of 3 to 6 dogs on hour long, off leash adventures into the beautiful New England forests. Rain, shine, or snow, our walkers embrace it all while monitoring and managing their packs and providing excellent customer service everyday. Join our team and help us make the good dogs of Pioneer Valley great! * * What We Provide: Pay starts at $15 per hour with the potential to earn more after 2 months of probation Increased holiday rates available Negotiable schedule Pet CPR and first aid training Additional training in dog behavior, pack management, and positive reinforcement training techniques * * Job Schedule: Monday through Friday, 10am - 3pm starting at least 3 days a week (Required) Weekend, holidays, mornings, nights, and overnights (Desired)* * What We Are Looking For: A flexible team player with a love of working with dogs of all sizes and breeds! The ability to walk up to 3 miles a day on pavement and forest trails while managing dogs on and/or off leash Comfortable driving in urban and rural settings while making frequent stops for dogs Clear communication skills and comfortable using email, text, and making phone calls to contact clients and team members daily Carefully follows clients instructions and preferences for the care of their pets A punctual, trustworthy, professional individual with strong observational and organisational skills A patient individual with a knowledge or interest in learning positive reinforcement training techniques for managing dogs * * Job Requirements: Must have valid driver license and reliable vehicle for transporting packs of dogs Must have a smart phone with a camera, texting, ample data, and an ability to check emails at all times Live within or adjacent to our service areas in Northampton/Easthampton Able to lift up to 45 lbs and restrain dogs of any size on leash Willingness and ability to work outside in all weather types and seasons The ability to pass a criminal background check* * * * If interested, please send a resume (even if not pet related) and cover letter.* * SUBJECT: Application for Dog Hiker* * No phone calls please.* * I will be reviewing applications over the next few weeks, hoping for the new hires to start in mid October * Job Types: Full-time, Part-time Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
