The Ultimate Questions
The Benedictine monks of Chicago will offer a morning of spiritual wisdom and practical counsel to address the ultimate questions.
As the liturgical year draws to an end in November, the Catholic Church considers the Four Last Things, but confronting our own mortality remains difficult. Drawing on the 1500-year Benedictine monastic tradition, this program offers wisdom on the art of dying well that resonates in today’s world. Topics will include the Catholic Church’s teaching on the dignity of the human person, suffering and death, funerals, cremation, and burial.
The event is free and open to all, but registration is required.
The Monastery of the Holy Cross is a community of contemplative Benedictine monks in the City of Chicago that lives by the ancient Rule of St. Benedict, seeking God through a life of prayer, silence, work, and hospitality.
