Calling all hot shots, rim shots, pings, flams, herratas, plairatas, flam-a-diddle, cheese-5-wise guys and gals-----------Lake Houston Area variety band is now holding auditions for a spot on the drums. Must know how to live in the pocket. This is a cover band playing mostly mainstream hits (country/pop/rock/etc.). Requirements to audition: (1) must be badass on the drums--otherwise don't bother; (2) must develop a deep romantic connection with a metronome; (3) must be able to take feedback and make adjustments to the music on the fly; and (4) must be consistent. Bonus points if you have drum corps experience. We rehearse in the Humble/Atascocita/Kingwood/Lake Houston Area, and that is the primary area for where we are seeking gigs. If you want to shoot your rim shot, send me an email with a date/time that you wish to audition--and I will confirm, pending my availability. In my confirmation, I will give you a list of 2-3 songs to prepare for your audition. FYI: Long-term, you need your own kit, but presently, there is a "house kit" available for use if needed. ALSO FYI: Feel free to audition on djembe rather than kit. You will not be penalized, but rather you will get bonus points if you can make the song sound full/interesting on djembe.
