Trauma hurts. Start to heal. Join us to learn how to help children birth through age 8 cope and thrive. WHO: Early care educators, parents, and caretakers WHERE: PSTCC Magnolia Campus WHEN: Saturday, November 6th from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM (see schedule details below) WHAT: A FREE, all day conference for educators, parents, and caretakers who have experienced trauma or are caring for children that have experienced trauma. WHY: Learn about trauma and what can be done to promote healingGain techniques for helping children feel safeUnderstand the connections between thoughts, feelings, and behaviorsLearn how a child's trauma can affect you, and the importance of self-careHighlights: Early Childhood Specialist and National Trainer from the Devereux Center for Resilience, Nefertiti Poyner, will speak to all attendees on developing simple strategies to promote resilience in children and the adults that love them.Ashley Brailsford with Our Joyful Learning Community, will engage caregivers and families in joyful learning activities that they can do outside to rekindle joy for themselves and children.Muse Knoxville will provide a curriculum-based professional development session called Ramps, Slides, and Pathways.
