West River Counseling Association presents the 2021 Ethics mini conference. Participants will receive 4.5 contact hours for the following 3 presentations:"A Deeper Understanding of Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder: Diagnosis, Ethics, Intervention and Treatment" -- Presented by Dr. Kari Scovel and Dr. Mark Garry (8:00-10:30)"Autism Insight: Therapeutic Intervention, Ethics and Assessment" -- Presented by Dr. Kari Scovel (10:40-11:40)"COVID Pandemic and Teletherapy: Ethical Navigation and Avoidance of Burn Out" -- Presented by Dr. Kari Scovel (11:50-12:50)Presenters: Dr. Kari Scovel, Ph.D., LPC-MH, QMHP - Licensed Psychologist, and Dr. Mark Garry, MD, Psychiatrist
Due to the COVID pandemic we will not be providing coffee and snack bar as we did in the past. However, we will be providing treat bags for participants with individually wrapped snacks and water.
The lecture hall at BHSU-Rapid City will provide enough space for participants to socially distance. Masks voluntary.
Registration Deadline - Friday, Nov. 5 - 3:00pmThe South Dakota Counseling Association has been approved by NBCC as an Approved Continuing Education Provider, ACEP No. 2042. Programs that do not qualify for NBCC credit are clearly identified. The South Dakota Counseling Association is solely responsible for all aspects of the programs.
