His musical style is heavily influenced by his childhood with deep roots in skateboarding & graffiti culture as a teen growing up in the 90s plus his South American Heritage. He also spent his youth living on a hospital ship as the child of relief workers. Def3 has performed globally at large-scale festivals & historic venues over the past 15 years, including the 2010 Olympics, Shambhala Music Festival, Red Rocks Amphitheatre, Hip Hop Kemp, SXSW, Envision Festival, Lightning In A Bottle, Sask Jazz Fest & many more. He's shared the stage with some of music’s biggest names such as The Roots, Big Boi, Post Malone, Hilltop Hoods, Nas, House Of Pain, Nelly and Foreign Beggars to name a few. Def3 has released 5 solo albums and collaborated on countless features throughout his career. His newest album “Weddings & Funerals”, a collaboration with Electro Soul producer, Late Night Radio, was released on Jun 4, 2021, and reached #1 on the Apple Music Itunes Canada hip hop charts the week of its release and #7 overall for all genres. His consistent music and video releases have made him a mainstay in both the hip hop and electronic scenes in Canada & the US. His unique stage presence, combined with a variety of hip hop and dance-inspired production, clever lyrics and catchy hooks from start to finish giving him a universal sound that works for almost all music lovers.
