Long Beach Health Officer Anissa Davis "recommended that all public meetings bodies, including the City Council, consider moving to the virtual format." So far, the health order has not been updated. (LB Post) Remember when the vast majority voted for Measure A? It hiked sales taxes in 2016 for a decade to "support public roads and safety services." If you're curious how the money is spent, you might be in for some surprises. The LBPD got "48.21% of the Measure A budget." The PD spent $35 million on "enhancing the lives of police officers and updating communication technologies." A minuscule 2.96% went to street improvement. The LBFD and paramedics are getting 15.20%. The final 30.63% expenditures go to "the investment of infrastructure, which details have not been publicly disclosed." (LB Local News) American Business Bank is expanding.
