Columbia Daily Spectator BY IRENE MADRIGAL SEPTEMBER 30, 2021 A new pop-up grab-and-go food service opened in the Skyline Room on the fourth floor of Faculty House on Thursday. Upon entering, students are immediately greeted by the smell of freshly baked salmon and roasted root vegetables. With plush carpeted floors, natural light, and plenty of open space for mingling, the Skyline Room's atmosphere is calm and inviting. While students serve themselves, they overlook an aerial view of the neighborhood's skyline. Inspired by fan favorites from John Jay Dining Hall, daily dishes served at Faculty House will include wild-caught Atlantic salmon, dressed-up macaroni and cheese, and a vegan entree with various starches and vegetables on the side. One highlight of the menu is fresh homemade garden salads topped with carrots, cherry tomatoes, red peppers, and cucumbers served with honey mustard, balsamic, or Italian vinaigrette dressing. Additionally, an assortment of fresh fruit and desserts will be available, including oranges and soft chocolate chip cookies. To access Faculty House, first head into East Campus through the Wien Gate on 116th Street. From there, walk past Wien Hall and enter Faculty House under the awning to the right. The pop-up dining location will be open Monday through Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Lunch is one meal swipe. Dining Dollars, Flex, and credit cards are also accepted.
