Description

Hi, I'm Scott Tournet and I was a founding member of Grace Potter and the Nocturnals (2003-2014), a solo artist, and producer. I now lead the band Elektric Voodoo. With The Nocturnals I was the main co-writer on 3 Top 40 albums and scored a gold record for the song “Paris”. We played festivals all over the world, appeared on all the late night shows, and even performed for president Obama. In addition to my work with the Nocturnals, I've also written and recorded with Dan Auerbach (The Black Keys), Willie Nelson, T Bone Burnett, Kenny Chesney, Alison Krauss, Mark Batson (Dr. Dre, Alicia Keys, Eminem) and others. I’ve performed with The Allman Brothers, members of The Grateful Dead and Phish, Billy Gibbons (ZZ Top) and many others. After many years on the road I’m slowing down the touring a little as I’m a new dad. I still go out a little bit here and there but not full time so I’m now able to teach again which is something I’ve always enjoyed. Along with what I've done professionally, I have a BA in music composition and performance. As far as teaching styles, I like to cater the lessons to your needs. We set our goals and then set out to achieve them while always keeping an eye on fun and enjoyment. Music is meant to be fun and something we enjoy. I'm comfortable with total beginners all the way to advanced students and any age. I've taught between the ages of 7 and 70. I offer guitar, bass, harmonica, songwriting, production, music theory, performance, etc.
