Here are the top stories today in Atlanta: Two people died when the off-road vehicle they were in collided with a cement bridge support pillar near downtown Atlanta just after midnight Sunday morning, according to Atlanta Police. Indications were that the "vehicle left the roadway and collided with a cement pillar" supporting the Marietta Street bridge that runs over North Avenue, the department said. Both occupants in the vehicle were confirmed deceased at the scene by EMS services, according to a police release. (11Alive.com WXIA) After 10 dry days, Atlanta could receive a month's worth of rain in less than a week. Starting Sunday and continuing through Thursday, showers and storms are expected to dump 3 to 5 inches of rain across North Georgia. On average, Atlanta gets 3.28 inches of rain the entire month of October. (11Alive.com WXIA) Thousands of Women's March protesters gathered across the country Saturday in support of reproductive rights. While the main rally was in Washington D.C., five events were held in metro Atlanta, including a march and rally at the state capitol. Five more events were held elsewhere in Georgia. The marches were planned a month after a Texas law banning abortions after six weeks of pregnancy went into effect and was upheld at least temporarily by the U.S. Supreme Court. (WSB Atlanta) UPDATE: A woman was not shot at a gas station on Martin Luther King Jr. Drive Saturday morning but instead received a laceration from debris following a fight, according to Atlanta police. During a follow-up investigation at the hospital, police say they received additional information and learned the incident was not a shooting.
