Description

Please help us re-home Brie. She is a healthy 2 year old Australian shepherd, lab, and pit mix. She is up to date on her immunizations/rabies vaccine and spayed. We adopted Brie from the Albuquerque animal shelter in early August. She had been at the shelter for several months and was brought in as a stray. She was the sweetest girl at the shelter and quick to bond with myself and my fiancé. She is very playful, energetic, loyal, and a fast learner. We were able to house train her within a couple of weeks and she is also crate trained. She is still very much a puppy and will chew any household items within her reach, if given the opportunity. Unfortunately, a couple weeks after becoming established in her new home, she developed signs of territorial aggression and severe anxiety. She has also displayed quite unpredictable behavior to strangers (both dogs and humans) while on walks. She will growl and attempt to lunge at some, while showing clear signs of wanting to befriend and play with others. She is very protective of her space and will bark, growl, and lunge at visitors (even when they are clearly invited into the home). She attempted to bite a visitor's foot, but thankfully he was wearing a sturdy shoe, so no harm was done. Due to having a cat in the house and small children in the family, we are unable to keep Brie in our home. We feel that she would do quite well on a ranch, where she has lots of outdoor space to roam or in a home without children, cats, or many visitors and an owner that can devote ample time to behavioral interventions and developing trust. If you feel that Brie might be a good fit for you, please contact myself or my fiancé via phone at * * Small rehoming fee, and will come with her toys, blankets, leash etc. to help you get started Thank you!
