Description

44yo fusion/shred/chicken picker/synth-friendly guitarist ISO other true music nerds/virtuoso players (bass, drums, keys, sax, melodica etc) to collaborate on instrumental videos for YouTube. This can be 100% remote. Everybody must be able to record themself and send in an audio stem and a simple smartphone or GoPro video. ALL INSTRUMENTAL. Originals, standards, covers (including instrumental covers of vocal tunes). Suggest your faves. About me: Chops, theory, gear, audio/video production skillset, true nĂ¼rd. I see music as a technical science based on geometry and physics, which to me is fun! I also love the comedy jokes and fart samples. I'm absolutely NOT a cool rock star, but huge dork who loves practicing and learning and watching Star Trek TNG with my cats. Seeking similar vibe. Prefer awkward/weird/non-cool musicians with crazy skills. Target audience is other musicians on YouTube, unashamedly. This is all about musicianship skills, chops and clever musical tricks. That is the point, yes. Not about songwriting or having a message. NO POLITICS. YouTube to start/build, maybe someday live shows at Baked Potato, Alvas Showroom, NAMM booth demos, etc. Regular peeps/non-musicians ain't gonna like it. The best daydream of success would be something like The Aristocrats. Playing at clinics, schools etc. By now this should have scared away all the singer-songwriters and 'artists'. Remaining nerds: let's fire up the DAWs/NLEs and get it. Influences: Allen Hinds, Frank Gambale, Chick Corea, Jamiroquai (instrumental/Stuart Zender), Greg Howe/Dennis Chambers/Victor Wooten, Snarky Puppy, The Aristocrats, Valeriy Stepanov, Alex Hutchings, Alan Holdsworth, Vai, Malmsteen, Paul Gilbert, Blues Saraceno, Albert Collins, Tony Rice, Albert Lee, Brent Mason, Johnny Hiland, Pat Metheny, Brett Garsed, Eric Johnson, Mohini Dey, Tim Pierce, Rick Beato, Polyphia, Tom Quayle, Martin Miller, Norm MacDonald, Steve Martin, dinosaurs (mostly sauropods). Examples from YouTube of what I'd like to do (some remote, some live-in-studio): https://youtu.be/zwFRmt-xGqA https://youtu.be/qq2tu-vAOns (Hold on to Hope, G504 in particular) https://youtu.be/GVlwqflKUfY https://youtu.be/Ima6Oz1Cs0E https://youtu.be/kNOYYUkTFVE https://youtu.be/UPs0LJmIaYQ https://youtu.be/z3HMjmPBRRQ My playing (some of it is crappy webcam) : https://youtu.be/H70NEy0WVBA https://youtu.be/pz4vgzHLoXw https://youtu.be/Dmc_vDYjv_Q https://youtu.be/5JNJaiU9lVQ https://youtu.be/9IXwfaXqvt0 https://youtu.be/TCMlCqjO_bw https://youtu.be/rnujyrKFU5w https://youtube.com/shorts/bZRJ49wfxHg A more recent work showcasing my dorky video editing, motion graphics and current camera quality: https://youtu.be/EvoCXERb9PI Available to start after 10/18
