Really? So what you're saying is because people lost tax right offs they went from homeowners to the streets. How many fairfax? What a crock of leftist shit! People, owning homes even a couple of years ago on average worth over half a million dollars at the very least had to sell them take the money, buy tents and live on the streets? LMFAO They couldn't become renters again using less of their money to rent than their former mortgage, insurance and upkeep cost? Actually there was a study done that found many of the "new" homeless were a result of the cap on the property and income tax write-offs that we had before Trump's tax plan. What was once a big write-off now forces many who didn't pay before to pay. What's the big deal you ask? Well here's an example of what is going on in many households in CA (and NY): State/Local income tax - ~$20K Property taxes - ~$10K That's ~$30K that at one time could be applied to reduce your income and subsequently your tax. Now, you only write-off $10K. So now with a tax rate at ~18% (a low example, it's more like 25-28%) that's an additional $3600 you have to pay the feds. You bitch and moan about tax dollars but this is okay? (Oh and to those that rent guess who gets hit with this? Your landlord. And guess who they're gonna pass it on to? You.) Homelessness is a problem at the local, state, and federal level. And there are MANY reasons why people are homeless. Some because of financial burdens. Some because of addiction problems (drugs, gambling, etc.). Some because of mental and physical health issues. And some are because of bad luck. And it's been a problem under Republican and Democratic governors. So get off the Newsome-blaming bandwagon. Your recent attempts to overthrow duly elected people in this state were a complete and total FAILURE. Your attempts to overthrow a federal election were a complete and total FAILURE. When do you get tired of being wrong and failing?
