looking for help with acoustic treatment

I have a small rehearsal space that I’d like to get up to par in terms of acoustic balance. The room is loud and ringy. Started putting acoustic foam on the walls but honestly I don’t have any experience and I could be doing a lot of work for nothing. Things like bass traps and placement and such, no experience with that. This isn’t some super serious thing but if I could pull off making the room work well enough to mic and record tracks for fun, that would be swell. Advise requested. Thank you!
