Featuring Certified IFS Therapist, Craig Ellis, LPC. 24CEU “Neuroscience research shows that the only way we can change the way we feel is by becoming aware of our inner experience and learning to befriend what is going on inside ourselves.” –Bessel van der Kolk, MD, IFS advocate and author of The Body Keeps the Score. Hailed by Dr. Van Der Kolk as a treatment method that “all clinicians should know.” This small-group training is limited to 12 participants. 6:1 student to trainer ratio. The IFS model goes beyond the mind to provide a compassionate and holistic approach to understanding and working with the human psyche. This model accesses the subconscious to take clients places that traditional talk therapy cannot. It is a game-changer when working with stuck clients, including couples. IFS provides powerful healing for the repressed burdens and traumas of the mind and body. This three-day workshop will provide you with the necessary basics to begin using it immediately. This is a live, highly experiential training, no videos. There will be 3 trainers present to insure everyone gets the maximum opportunity to work with the model. Target Audience: Counselors, Coaches, Social Workers, Psychiatrists, Psychologists, LCDCs, LMFTs, LPCs and MDs PRESENTER: Craig Ellis, MA, LPC, is certified by the IFS Institute as a therapist, consultant and trainer. Craig has been in private practice in Houston, Texas for 22 years. He has acted as an assistant trainer in multiple Level 1 and Level 2 trainings around the country and provides consultation to other IFS therapists.Craig is also a Certified Advanced Rolfer and Craniosacral Therapist. Some of the modalities and spiritual paths he has studied in-depth over the years include: Traditional Clinical Counseling; Hakomi Therapy; Internal Family Systems Therapy; Focusing; Past Life Regression Therapy; Big Mind Process; Clarity Process; Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction; Mindfulness Based Addiction Therapy; Yoga; Reiki; Rolfing; Craniosacral Therapy; Vipassana Meditation, and A Course In Miracles. We all have "Parts" of ourselves that can take over and determine what we think, feel and do. Pixar's Inside Out perfectly demonstrates what happens when our Parts are determining our behaviors and when some Parts are repressed. The goal of IFS is to help our client's access their core "Self". Self is who we really are when we are centered, loving and wise. Some faith traditions refer to this as the "soul". When clients learn to become Self-led rather than Parts-led, they can begin to help their own Parts become less extreme and dysfunctional. Like a healthy family system, clients become the loving parent of their repressed, traumatized, angry and depressed parts. Through these loving connections, homeostasis is restored to the internal system.
