Join the four cities on the Palos Verdes Peninsula as we team up once again for the annual Prepared Peninsula Expo. Join the four cities on the Palos Verdes Peninsula as we team up once again for the annual Prepared Peninsula Expo. In an effort to educate our residents and the broader community on emergency preparedness at the Prepared Peninsula Expo will take place Sunday, October 24 from 10:00 am – 1:00 pm at Peninsula Highschool, 27118 Silverspur Road, Rolling Hills Estates, CA 90274. Participants will learn how to protect themselves, their family and their pets in a disaster. This free, fun-filled, event will provide lunch (while supplies last) and feature several exhibitors, demonstrations and equipment displays. Exhibitors include local organizations that will provide tips and tools, as well as retail vendors selling preparedness goods, like extended life water, emergency bags as well as Meals-Ready-to-Eat (MREs) and much more. Participants will also have the opportunity to learn about the school district and library district preparedness plans. There will be brief presentations available during the Expo on safety and preparedness tips. Exhibits like the Shaky Quaky Earthquake Simulator and the Homeland Security Investigations, Los Angeles Rapid Response Team’s Mobile Command Unit (RRT), Police & Sheriff vehicles will provide for a fun-family time. This Expo is a local resource to the Palos Verdes Peninsula and is supported by the Cities of Palos Verdes Estates, Rancho Palos Verdes, Rolling Hills, Rolling Hills Estates, the Palos Verdes Peninsula Unified School District, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, Los Angeles County Fire Department and the DHS.
