Om Shanti, I am Yogi Prakriti. I welcome you to join me on Sunday and/or Wednesday mornings at 7 am to participate in Yin Yoga. I will be your instructor and guide through the practice. Yin Yoga is the yummy and delicious practice of focusing on three qualities of Yin; Stillness of the body, stillness of the breath, and stillness of the mind. All need to refine and purify the Nadis [engery channels of the body] so that prana [life force energy] may travel throughout the body to reoxygenate it. This allows everything in the body to feel reenergize and relaxed. In a culture that values busyness, providing the time and space for people to relax and return to a state of being (instead of doing) is a rare gift. Yin Yoga is gentle on the mind, body, soul, and spirit as most of the poses are done on the floor. There’s no standing flow. Yin Yoga is a passive yoga practice that focuses on the deep connective tissues in your body. It allows for your fascia, joints, bones, and ligaments to open, promoting flexibility in your body. Yin Yoga specifically works to deeply penetrate the connective tissues in your body, releasing physical and energetic blocks through long holds, deep breathing, and relaxation.
