A 58-year-old motorcyclist was hit by a car on West Country Road near the intersection of Newbridge Road and hospitalized with injuries. The Bakery, at 282 Hempstead Avenue in West Hempstead, was in Garden City for 60 years and is still owned by the Riesterer family who opened it in the 1930s.
