GAITHERSBURG, MD — Montgomery County Police have arrested and charged 32-year-old Gaithersburg resident Patrick Clayton Parker with first-degree rape, attempted second-degree murder and first-degree assault. Police say Parker encountered a woman outside of a Silver Spring business. The woman was homeless at the time and Parker offered her a place to stay, police said. When they arrived at his home, Parker sexually assaulted, strangled, and hit the woman in the head, according to police. Parker was arrested on Sept. 28 and is being held without bond.
