I'm sorry, orange cat killed in the road

I pulled an orange, stripey cat out of the street and onto a low planter adjacent to the sidewalk. He's deceased. I'm sorry. He's by Creekside Apartments on 27th Way in Boulder. He was hit just after 8pm, I'd guess.
