STRONGSVILLE, OH — Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine visited a manufacturing company in Strongsville on Friday. His visit to the city brought him to Vitamix, the company that specializes in blending products. "Ohio is proud to have the third-largest manufacturing workforce in the nation with 14,000+ Ohio manufacturing businesses," Gov. DeWine said on Twitter. "One of them, Vitamix, has been making high-performance blenders in Strongsville since 2013. It was great to stop by today & learn more about the company!" Vitamix is a family-owned company. According to the company's website, in 1949, Vitamix founder William G. "Papa" Barnard created the first infomercial in the U.S. to demonstrate how the Vitamix blender can help families eat healthier with whole foods. The company celebrated its 100th anniversary in May.
