Press release from the North Canton Public Library: Christina Weyrick October 1st, 2021 October 2021: We're celebrating Stephen King With over 350 million copies of his books sold worldwide, he's been crowned the king of horror – and we feel like that needs to be celebrated! October will get a little creepier at the NCPL as we devote a whole month of programs to the one and only Stephen King. We hope you will join us – if you dare! The Little Art Gallery Presents Stephen King Month The Gallery will feature some of Stephen King's most iconic characters and scene displays. Exhibit on display: October 1 through October 31 SS Georgie Origami Visit the library and make an origami boat from the movie IT for the entire month of October. The origami pages will be located in the library on the first floor. Open to all ages. Stephen King Coloring Pages Come and color Stephen King movie-themed coloring pages for the entire month of October. The coloring pages will be located in the library on the first floor. Open to all ages. Dress Up Days Fridays in October Teens and Adults: Find fashion inspiration in your favorite Stephen King character and stop by the Reference Desk in costume for a piece of candy or a Stephen King-themed sticker. On Writing Thursday, October 14 at 6:30 p.m. We are discussing the craft of writing by using Stephen King's memoir, On Writing, as our starting point. This discussion is open to all Teen and Adult writers and readers. Pick up copies of the book at the Patron Services Desk. Stephen King Trivia Wednesday, October 20 from 6 to 8 p.m. at The Howlin Bird Registration begins Monday, October 4 and is required. The Stephen King Experience Monday, October 25 at 6:30PM Our month-long celebration of everything Stephen King continues with a visit from retired Ohio librarian, author, and self-proclaimed King expert Ed Rossman. He'll lead us on a scenic tour of Colorado, the backdrop for Stephen King's books The Stand, The Shining, Misery, and Dr. Sleep. Through colorful slides and entertaining commentary, attendees will learn more about King's stories and his thoughts on writing. Rossman will also share some of the behind-the-scenes details of King's most notable books and movies. This press release was produced by the North Canton Public Library.
