Two busy Mount Airy-based parents are hiring a House Manager who can provide organizational support in our home and our lives! Both of us own businesses and have demanding schedules, so this role is meant to help lighten the mental load of decluttering, organizing, and running errands, and other in-home tasks. We value time more than money, and we’re looking for someone who finds work like this to be truly fulfilling and not just a paycheck. (But don’t worry - this role DOES come with a paycheck!) Why This Job is Awesome: ✅ The hours are flexible: probably 10-15 hours/week to start ✅ The kids (who may be around sometimes) are both cute and hilarious. Our daughter is 5 and our son is 15 months. ✅ The parents value open communication and have no interest in micro-managing. ✅ Since you’ll be responsible for keeping us organized, your suggestions and ideas on ways to improve things will always be heard! Main Responsibilities Include: Household: -- Making sure the household is stocked up on necessities (ie: cleaning supplies) -- Keep stock of baby supplies needed, what we’re low on -- Straightening up after kids and other household members -- Light house cleaning (take out trash, sweeping and vacuuming, wiping off/dusting surfaces, organizing toys etc.) -- Putting away laundry -- Change bed sheets/ make bed -- Swap out towels / hand towels in bathroom and kitchen General organizing: -- Organizing our closets and researching a better closet system -- Decluttering -- Support seasonal activities (ie: putting up/taking down decorations, gift wrapping, etc.) -- Help sort through kids’ clothes to store, donate or get rid of as the outgrow and change seasons Errands: -- Returning Amazon or Zappos or Nordstrom boxes -- Selling items on Facebook or Craigslist or posting free things while coordinating the pick up -- Run general errands for the family (post office, donation drop offs etc..) Food / Kitchen: -- Manage household groceries (possibly develop a system to help track what we need/where to get it and when to top up) -- Ordering groceries to be delivered and putting them away -- Keep the kitchen clean, dishes washed etc, clean out leftovers and old food… Personal Assistant Tasks: -- Making doctors appointments -- Coordinating with daycares or schools when needed -- Coordinating with contractors (plumbers, landscaping companies etc…) -- Organizing gifts for different occasions Additional Tasks May Include: -- Packing children’s school lunches / unpacking lunch bags -- Organizing travel arrangements (purchase tickets, fill out necessary docs etc...) -- Creating itineraries for travel (departure and arrival, sightseeing, things to do etc…) -- Pack and unpack suitcases -- Cook or prepare meals during the hours you are working Job Requirements: 🟡 Must have your own form of transportation 🟡 Must be fully vaccinated and COVID conscious (wearing a mask while indoors both while working and in your personal life) 🟡 High-level communications skills 🟡 Computer proficient In order to do this job well, you should be: ✅ A self-starter who takes ownership for keeping the house running smoothly ✅ Highly organized, detail oriented and efficient ✅ Able to create and follow systems ✅ Proactively take initiative to solve problems and improve how things are ✅ Flexible and willing to jump in, adapt or lend a hand where needed ✅ Honest, trustworthy and reliable ✅ Able to navigate the needs of the entire family and function like an extra set of hands for the parents Position is available to start immediately. We’re looking for someone who can start at 10-15 hours a week with some flexibility to do more hours depending on our needs. Monday to Friday (with some occasional weekends).
