Description
Dog trainer and professional photographer (retired high school math teacher) and retired English teacher/writer husband are looking for a perfect southern New Hampshire home for aging in place with multi-age dogs -- therapy dogs, FEMA deployable Disaster Stress Relief Dogs, and agility dogs competing at a high level. Dog folks most likely know what it looks like: most of the house on one level (laundry, mudroom, exit to backyard, level garage, screened porch or three-season room, bedrooms on first floor, no need for basement or attic, floors easy to clean, informal rather than formal, fenced yard a bonus, few steps for revered aged dogs (and similar humans)..... We have an enthusiastic buyer's agent helping, but I thought I'd put it out to the dog community in case there are clever ideas.
Something about 2500 sq ft, about 2 acres, level back yard, fencing would be a bonus. Move-in ready, ranch style preferred, garage level with the rest of the house, central air a bonus, main bedroom on first floor.... Not in a gigantic hurry, but packed and ready to call the PODS company if we find the right property. Pre-approved for mortgage, not reliant on sale of current home. We are both from Connecticut but have taught at independent schools across the US for the last 40+ years. Family and familiarity are bringing us back to New England, dogs in tow.
I will reply via CL relay with email and phone contact, as appropriate. Would love any tips or sage advice. Thank you for your time.
