About this event: This is a fun and informative workshop in which you, the healthcare professional, learn about the principles of Reiki, and energy work spoke in the language of nursing the profession. This certification class is a combination of lecture, discussion, and hands-on experience. This unique experience introduces holistic healing modalities to enrich your life, as well as those you care for. Duke University offers classes to their healthcare professionals and their stance is that Reiki is a intervention that supports stress reduction and healing the mind, body, and emotional parts of oneself by activating the parasympathetic nervous system and the relaxation response. Energy healing practices have been used for centuries although they are often misunderstood in modern-day times. Reiki practices and other holistic nursing modalities are used to support healing in many large institutions. 2020 was the year that topped them all. We are experiencing a multitude of trauma experiences that have left our profession speechless. In this class, you will learn how to begin to become more resilient in your mental, physical and emotional health and life. In this class, you will learn about the origins and history of Reiki. The nature of healing energy and how it can assist the healing process. The complete hand placement system to give treatments to self and others. Gassho meditation. Byosen scanning. You will receive the Reiki I attunement. You will receive a Reiki I certificate. Completion of this course will qualify you to take the Reiki II certification course. You will receive a Reiki treatment and give a Reiki treatment in the workshop. While this is a Reiki I certification course, you will be exposed to, and learn so much about the application of other holistic nursing interventions to add to your life. The investment for this course is 175 dollars and requires RSVP to save your spot as class size is limited to 15 people. The date is 10/23/2021 from 11am to 4pm.
