Feel pressures dissolve into the air around you as you experience the liberating freedom and energy that contemplative time in nature offers
Reset your start button through Klehm Arboretum & Botanic Garden's new, nine-walk wellness program, "A Path to Well-being," and get the most out of this one precious life that is yours.
Learn more about this program and the benefits of spending time in nature through this FREE autumn orientation session. The orientation will include an introduction to Shinrin Yoku (forest bathing/immersion in nature), core mindfulness practices, and meditative breath work, plus a sample guided walk - all of which will be used in the full "A Path to Well-being" program. These practices are the tools that will help you reap the full benefits that nature can provide, including reducing stress, anxiety, and blood pressure, and improving mood, attention, and working memory.
If you enjoy the orientation and wish to embark on the full "Path to Well-being," you will be able to purchase the guidebook at the conclusion of the orientation. The guidebook includes nine wellness walk experiences to complete as they fit in your life. Enrolling in the program will also include admission to Klehm Arboretum & Botanic Garden to complete your self-guided wellness walks and optional follow-up sessions to answer questions and discuss how the program is going.
Wear footwear suitable for trail walking and dress appropriately for whatever the weather might be. Bring a walking stick if you have one, and a small notebook and a pen/pencil. Also, bring a face covering for indoor use and for those rare outdoor times when physical distancing may be difficult.
