"It Gets Messy in Here": a short documentary film exploring experiences of GNC lesbians + Trans Men of Color navigating public restrooms. You are invited to join us at the Queer Arts Center's Spectrum Sunday Matinee (in-person + Zoom) screening of "It Gets Messy in Here" by filmmaker and educator Marshall Green and cast member Jay Marie Hill (who will both be joining us IN-PERSON). This powerful short documentary film (32 minutes) explores the racialized and gendered experiences of gender non-conforming lesbians and transgender men of color while navigating the public restroom. Through in-depth interviews you get honesty, humor, self-reflection, and public accountability. This film highlights the intersections of race and gender specifically, expanding conversations around transgender masculinities and race within the context of the United States.
