SARASOTA, FL — A Sarasota man has been charged with 50 counts of possession of child sexual abuse material after hundreds of explicit images and videos were found in his Dropbox account, the Sarasota County Sheriff's Office said in a news release. Detectives received a tip in July from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children after four videos depicting child pornography were uploaded to a Dropbox server. During their investigation, detectives used the IP addressed use to upload the images to identify 22-year-old Ian Hancock as the suspect, the sheriff's office said. A search of his Dropbox account and cell phone found more than 200 images and videos with victims ranging in age from infant to 14 years old. Ian Hancock, 22, faces child porn possession and drug charges. (Sarasota County Sheriff's Office)More than 400 grams of marijuana were also found at Hancock's home during the investigation, SCSO said. When he was arrested, deputies found additional marijuana, methamphetamine and a glass pipe in his possession. Hancock was taken into custody Tuesday. He's been charged with 50 counts of possession of child sexual abuse material, possession of marijuana over 20 grams, possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia and contempt of court, the sheriff's office said. He remains in custody while the investigation continues.
