Honoring the LIFE CHANGERS, LEADERS, AND TRAILBLAZERS IN OUR COMMUNITY! We are still filled with such great excitement and deep appreciation as the love, support and energy from the 1st Annual Black Excellence Community Award Banquet is still being felt throughout our beautiful city! In the beginning, our team had no clue of the amount of work it would entail; but we knew that the event was truly what our city needed! We did it in record time (three weeks)—and we are so thankful for the overwhelming support we received as we achieved our goal of honoring black business owners, community organizations, leaders and aspiring entrepreneurs who have made an exceptional impact in our community! The need for this positive, life-changing event was urgent. The aftermath of a divided country; social unrest; and a global pandemic, left many feeling hopeless and without clear direction! While we knew that we could not change the world or its circumstances overnight, we were very confident that we could pull individuals, from various ethic, socioeconomic and political backgrounds to celebrate and appreciate the good that was happening in our community! We wanted our community to know that “We See You”; and we believe—and have zero doubt, that our love and appreciation for their individual and collective contributions was fully displayed on that evening!
