ISLIP, NY — A 17-year-old was arrested in Islip on Wednesday after police found him to be in possession of a stolen utility golf cart, a loaded handgun without a permit, and unprescribed narcotics, police said.
According to New York State police, officers stopped the teenager around 3:18 p.m. In addition to the stolen golf cart and handgun, officers found him to have Diazepam pills — a controlled substance — not prescribed to him, police said.
He was arrested and charged — as an adolescent offender — with second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, a felony, third-degree grand larceny, a felony, and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor, police said.
He was held for arraignment at the Suffolk County Court.
