Part-time Hot Dog Cart Operator Needed

This position is an opportunity to work with a small team that operates a successful mobile hotdog cart in Tacoma, WA. This isn't your average line cook gig! You'll be our secondary mobile cart operator and it requires a bit of dexterity and flexibility to drive the cart to an outside sale site (sometimes different locations), setup the cart and serve hotdogs to customers, often unsupervised. On a normal day you will: • Prep and load food into a company vehicle • Tow the cart to a location (event, catering, bar, etc) • Setup • Cook, serve and ring up orders (assisted at busier locations) • Tear down • Return to base and offload On seldom days when you're just assisting, you'll just show up at the location and help cook and/or cashier. While sometimes challenging due to often unassisted days, inclement weather and the technical side of the cart, it's very rewarding considering the often large weekly tips and positive feedback and praise operators get from customers and clients. The position requires a great deal of independence and confidence to be successful. If you require a constant co-working situation, this probably isn't your cup o' tea. The Position Offers: • $18/hr ($40-$100/day in tips) • $22-$25/hr when catering • Automatic $1 raise after 6 months • Paid time off • Potential full-time employment (if desired) with benefits • Free food Schedule: • 15-30 hours per week • Mostly end of week - days flexible to work with your schedule • Evenings and lunch catering Responsibilities: • Take orders, cook and serve customers • Tow and setup/breakdown cart • Ensure customer satisfaction • Comply with health department standards Requirements: • Able to work in high-volume transactions and environments • Great organization and communication skills • Dependable and self-motivated • Some flexible hours • Able to lift up to 50 lbs • Driver's license
