Description

ATTLEBORO, MA — Massachusetts State Troopers are investigating after they say a North Attleboro police officer's cruiser was struck Thursday night, leaving two people injured. Police say the accident caused traffic to be backed up for miles. The cruiser was parked on I-95 South near exit 5, working on a construction detail when investigators say the officer was hit. State Police say the officer was taken to Sturdy Memorial Hospital and the driver of the other car was taken to a Rhode Island hospital with a lower-body injury. This is the second time a cruiser has been struck while working a construction detail this week. On Tuesday night, police say a State Trooper was working a detail in Weston when he was struck by a tractor-trailer driver who police later found fell asleep at the wheel. This is a developing story, check back for more information. #MAtraffic Troopers responding to Route 95 southbound South of Exit 5 in #Attleboro for a North Attleboro Police Cruiser struck while at construction detail.
