Minuteman Senior Services Our mission is to empower and advocate for those impacted by aging and disability. We offer information and supportive services that enhance health, well-being, and independence. Position Summary The Assistant Site Coordinator works with the Site Coordinator to ensure daily Meals on Wheels delivery to home-bound elders residing in Acton and Maynard is completed in a timely manner. Also assists with onsite congregate dining. This position is based in the Acton Senior Center located at 30 Sudbury Road. SCHEDULE: Monday- Friday, 9:30 – 12:30 (3 hours/day,15 hours/week) COMPENSATION: $15/hour plus reimbursement for any work-related mileage. 12 Paid Holidays. PPE is provided. RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: Assist in the training and day-to-day oversight of volunteer MOW Drivers in the absence of the Site Coordinator. Assist with updating route sheets, schedule volunteer MOW drivers, and maintain monthly calendars. Implement and maintain food handling practices and procedures for congregate dining and Meals on Wheels that adhere to agency standards and local fire, health, sanitation, and safety codes. Under the oversight of the Site Coordinator, keep required records and statistics. Submit all paperwork to supervisor in timely manner as required. Work with Minuteman Senior Services’ Volunteer Coordinator to share ideas and efforts to facilitate unity in volunteer programs. Wear Minuteman apron and name badge at all times. Attend staff meetings and appropriate training sessions at Minuteman Senior Services’ location in Bedford. Display a consistently positive, cooperative, self-motivated, courteous, and professional attitude while working as a team member and pitching in as necessary. Drive to deliver Meals on Wheels in the absence of volunteer driver as needed. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor. COMPETENCIES needed: Customer Service Skills – demonstrates good listening skills, self-control, empathy, humor and positivity. Oral Communication— excellent phone skills with ability to communicate clearly and effectively, use good judgment. Quality Control—demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness and monitor own work to ensure quality. Dependability—consistently at work and on time, follow instructions, respond to management direction. QUALIFICATIONS: High School graduate or equivalent in work/life experience in community or social group work (paid or volunteer) Must be able to lift bags/coolers weighing a maximum of 35 lbs.
