Sterling Man Identified As Man Killed In Motorcycle Crash: Update

Updated 4:15 p.m. with information about the identify of the motorcycle rider. HERNDON, VA — Fairfax County Police identified the person killed overnight in a motorcycle crash on Route 28 near Herndon as 22-year-old Donald Baker of Sterling, according to a police release. Officers responded just before midnight on Thursday for the report of a motorcycle crash on northbound Route 28 near the McLearen Road exit. A preliminary investigation by the Crash Reconstruction unit determined that Baker was traveling on northbound Route 28 on a 2021 Suzuki GSXR 10004 when he accelerated and lost control. The motorcycle veered off the right side of the road and struck a guardrail, throwing Baker off the vehicle. He was transported to a nearby hospital but was pronounced dead. No evidence has been found at this time indicting whether alcohol or drugs were factors in the crash. Police ask anyone with information about the incident to contact the Crash Reconstruction Unit at 703-280-0543.
