Drift Smoke Over Temecula, Murrieta Coming From Camp Pendleton

TEMECULA, CA — A brush fire on Camp Pendleton Friday was not causing any threats to structures or personnel, but base officials warned that smoke will be visible throughout the day. Friday afternoon, drift smoke was spreading over Southwest Riverside County, mainly in Temecula and parts of Murrieta. Northern San Diego County cities and communities were also seeing the smoke, according to North County Fire Protection District. Base officials have not provided an update on the blaze since 12:38 p.m. when it was reported that several base roads that were closed as a result of the fire had been reopened.
