MARIN COUNTY, CA — Marin has launched new initiatives that aim to use 21st century tools to address a centuries old problem. The county has developed data-driven tools it's using to analyze and identify solutions to address racial inequity, according to a report in the website Government Technology, which cites Marin's chief of the Department of Information Services and Technology. Marin has launched two new initiatives that aim to address systemic inequities, Liza Lowery Massey told GT. Massey's team is working in tandem with the Marin County racial equity officer to develop a public website that will include a dashboard. "The purpose of the website and dashboard will be to aggregate data that allows analysis of racial equity in a variety of areas, not just county government employees," Massey told the publication. Massey's team is also developing Digital Marin, cross-sector project that aims to create a digital infrastructure strategic plan," the report said. "We want universally accessible, affordable, reliable, resilient broadband throughout Marin — for everyone," Massey told GT.
