Salary Range USD $21.50/Hr. Overview Job in a Nutshell: The Quality Assurance Lead Sanitation Technician position is a working lead responsible for overseeing and assisting with timely cleaning of production equipment, parts, utensils, and other areas of the Natural Grocers Distribution Center. This position will be responsible for following Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOP) and GMPs, and for ensuring the sanitation team does the same. The QA Sanitation Lead Technician will be required to train new employees in the department; ensure duties are completed on time to keep production on schedule; perform post clean inspections; maintain inventory of sanitation supplies; participate in facility audits; and complete all required documentation Responsibilities Main Ingredients: Familiar with bulk production schedules and product changeovers, requiring immediate attention to machines Knowledge of different types of bagging systems used, equipment change- parts per machine, and the product setup requirements Disassembles, cleans, and reassembles production machines and related equipment to keep production on schedule Performs post-sanitation inspections of production equipment Ensures containers, tubs and utensils are cleaned and ready for production Maintains sanitation logs of equipment and any other daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning schedules Operates baler for recycling of cardboard and plastic Operates floor scrubber, pallet jack, and scissor lift equipment as needed Maintains dust control in the production areas Performs all duties in compliance with company SSOPs Keeps grounds free of litter and debris Assists QA with any sanitation or food safety related duties Supervisory Responsibilities: Coordinates work schedules, assigns tasks, and schedules all daily and weekly sanitation duties Provides training of sanitation employees Assists with creating work instructions for disassembly, cleaning, and reassembly of production equipment, including proper storage of equipment and parts Verifies all sanitation duties are completed on schedule and recorded accurately, files documentation with QA department Documents and logs inventory and usage of sanitation cleaning supplies; reports to manager for timely re-ordering of supplies Reports all non-conformities in processes to supervisor/manager; assists in corrective and preventive actions by providing feedback to supervisors Ensures all tasks are done in a safe manner Participates on the Food Defense Team as part of the Food Safety Program Although this is a general outline of job responsibilities all employees are expected to be “hands on” and do whatever it takes to get the job done and make the company thrive. Qualifications Recipe for Success: High school diploma, GED or equivalent experience is required Must be able to attain level 3 certifications in GMP and food safety Current valid driver’s license with reliable transportation is required 1 to 2 years of experience in food production sanitation required Minimum 1 year team lead or supervisor experience required Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices in food production required Ability to read, write and speak English clearly and concisely required Strong communication skills to work with various members of staff and management Able to work in different seasonal climates and temperature changes Flexible to schedule changes Forklift experience preferred Excellent attention to detail and able to meet all deadlines This job description is not an employment contract.
