CONCORD, NH — Saturday's Powerball drawing, if someone wins, is expected to be the sixth-largest jackpot in the game's history, according to New Hampshire Lottery officials. Powerball is expected to reach $620 million by Saturday. The one-time cash payout, before taxes, is expected to be around $446 million. What would you do with $446 million dollars? "We are so excited for our players as this jackpot is projected to jump past the $600 million mark. Retailers across the state have been seeing players rush to stores this week in anticipation of tomorrow's drawing, so now's your chance to get in on this Powerball run. Here's to hoping October brings New Hampshire's next big Powerball winner." The high jackpot knocked off a previous New Hampshire winner, who was in the 10th-highest slot, from July 2016 who won $487 million. That winner stayed anonymous but created the Robin Egg 2016 Nominee Trust in order to give some of the money away. The new 10th-highest Powerball jackpot in history (who was ninth before two weeks ago), was the $559.7 million hit in January 2018, who also lives in New Hampshire. That winner also stayed anonymous after signing the ticket. McIntyre said there was a $150,000 winner on Wednesday who purchased their ticket through the iLottery online sales platform. They won $50,000 but also selected the Power Play for $1 which led to a tripling of the prize. Since 1964, the New Hampshire Lottery has contributed more than $2.3 billion to education in the state. In FY 2021, the agency smashed sales records. Got a news tip? Send it to [email protected]. View videos on Tony Schinella's YouTube.com channel or Rumble.com channel.
