Description
HOOVER, AL — To observe Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October, Hoover police officers will don pink badges throughout the month.
"This is something our Officers and this Department really embrace," Chief Nick Derzis said. "We hope by wearing pink badges, we can bring awareness to this disease. It affects so many women and men. We just want those families to know: we're all in this together."
In addition to the badges, the Hoover Police Department will also have pink decals on all of its patrol Tahoes.
"Spread the word about mammograms and encourage communities, organizations, families, and individuals to get involved," the Hoover PD said in a statement Friday. "The good news is that many can survive breast cancer if it's found and treated early."
