Good day, neighbors! Kathy Cioffi here with a fresh issue of the Atlanta Daily. First, today's weather: Sunshine and humid. High: 84 Low: 68. Here are the top stories in Atlanta today: Thousands of Women's March protesters are expected to gather in Atlanta today in support of reproductive rights. Atlanta's rally is among more than 650 marches planned in all 50 states and Washington, D.C. a month after a Texas law banning abortions after six weeks of pregnancy went into effect. Protesters will march from Liberty Plaza to the National Center for Civil and Human Rights from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. While the event was planned by pro-choice advocates, pro-life supporters will also be in attendance. (CBS46 News Atlanta)There's good news and bad news for Atlanta drivers. The good: major commute-clogging lane closures on I-285 are delayed until June, according to the Georgia Department of Transportation. The bad: those closures will only delay the entire traffic-slowing 285/400 project. (WSB-TV)The weather is cooling down and Atlanta's food and drink scene is heating up. From Oktoberfest bashes to a bounty of festivals designed to pique tastes and quench thirsts, October can be a month filled with merriment. (Atlanta Journal Constitution)Jimmy Carter, the nation's oldest living former president, turned 97 Friday. Born James Earl Carter Jr. in Plains, Ga., about 160 miles south of Atlanta, the 39th president still lives there with Rosalyn, his childhood sweetheart and wife of 75 years. The public is invited to join in the celebration by posting special birthday wishes on a message board created by the Carter Center.
