Description
Our band, Side Eye, is beginning our search for a reliable sound tech to operate our digital sound system for shows and to help with recording. We are open to either an experienced person or someone with good musical instincts and a desire to do this work that we can train.
Responsibilities will include:
* attending selected rehearsals to learn our set list which will be made up of our original material and a few creative covers
* Set up the FOH sound desk and help with monitor settings at shows.
* Aid in fixing immediate issues during shows - replacing cables, resetting a stage, sound checks, etc.
* packing the mixing equipment after shows
* Sitting with the sound tech at venues where there is in house sound so the tech will know what’s coming
* Working with us to hone our music
* Helping in recording situations
What this won’t include will be:
* Load in or out with equipment
* Transporting gear
* Repairing broken equipment
* Work outside of rehearsal and show times except for familiarizing yourself with our original material
In essence, what we need is a committed, dedicated, enthusiastic self motivated individual to learn our sound system, know our set list, run our system well and be a big part of creating great music. We could rehearse for the next 5 years getting our material in place and then play a show where our sound stinks and we might as well have stayed home for all of those 5 years.
If you think you might enjoy this, no matter what your specific experience, please get in touch. We will reply to all responses.
Thanks for reading and we hope to talk to you soon.
