Liberals need Conservatives to survive. Without Conservatives to feed and protect them, Liberals would starve to death or get eaten, because they have no skills or survival instincts. Conservatives would do quite nicely without any liberals in the world, because liberals are actually pretty useless. Maybe 'parasitic' would be a better word.
