First of all, I would agree that bars should pay their musicians. Twenty years ago I played at the Ventura theatre, Libbey Bowl, Bowlful of Blues at Lake Casitas, the Bombay and other bars. Playing deep into the night is demanding and should be compensated. Today, as a geezer, I just play because I love it. I still write songs. I get together with my friends and we jam and have a great time. An open community stage downtown is a great opportunity to share this music. We call ourselves TRIBAL ME and we are playing Saturday from 11-2. We are just going to have fun playing ocean inspired love music. There is a surf contest a C Street too.
