The notorious MCAT exam is the pain of many premeds, as the breadth and depth of the seven-and-a-half-hour exam make it a formidable opponent for medical school and PA school applications. It can be very overwhelming to think about this crucial step in applying to professional schools, and many students delay their studying because they feel that there's no clear starting point. During this workshop, I want to break down the MCAT exam into its simplest components- what it covers, why it is important, what the ideal study period should look like, and what students can do now to prepare for this exam. This workshop will provide the raw materials and scaffolding necessary to be successful on this exam.
STUDENT LEARNING OUTCOMES
Students who attend will understand topics and concepts comprise the MCAT exam, and how the material they are learning now in their college classes will serve as an important foundation during their preparation period. Students who attend will be able to understand the logistics of this exam, such as understanding score percentiles, cutoff scores for medical schools, how to choose a test day, etc. Students who attend this workshop will use this information and knowledge to properly prepare for this exam and ace it on test day.
