When submitting an RSVP, please commit to attending during one of the predefined sessions: 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM2:00 PM - 4:00 PM4:00 PM - 6:00 PMFood and drink accommodations will be refreshed periodically in accordance with this time-table, and we will have basic sanitation procedures in place to manage food service throughout the afternoon. If the size of our group during any one session exceeds the capacity of our venue, we will rely on session tickets to help prioritize use of the facilities. The event will be held primarily outdoors in a large, slopped, and shaded backyard. The house is affiliated with IU, and so we are not permitted to serve alcohol during this event. Seating and tables will be provided; we ask that guests with mobility concerns contact Iris Bull to make arrangements for an appropriate accommodation. Food and drink will be provided; we ask that you communicate any food allergens or concerns as soon as possible. Snacks and desserts are welcome; we ask that anyone wanting to contribute to the food table indicate their interest when registering for the event. We hope that those so inclined can also provide a list of ingredients for the items they bring when they come to the event. We will have materials on hand when you arrive and can assist in this process. We also welcome any volunteers who would like to help clean up at the end of the evening, beginning around 5:30 - 6:00pm. The official ‘after-cookout’ libation destination is The Atlas Ballroom (209 S. College Ave., https://goo.gl/maps/BQksQDNWAkQYosL17). PS - Event organizers are also at work compiling a collection of statements, anecdotes, playlists, digital art, memories and more for a Zine. We are planning to publish a print and digital pdf version, translated in both English and Spanish. If you would like more information about this project, please indicate your preference as part of your event RSVP. COVID Information Monroe County has extended the public mask mandate for indoor spaces through October 31. Regardless of an individual’s vaccination status, compliance with the mask mandate is required if an individual intends to use indoor facilities during the event. In accordance with the Health Department’s recommendations (https://www.co.monroe.in.us//egov/documents/1628107072_41094.pdf), we ask that attendees exercise judgment over their use of masks outdoors and carefully consider the needs of others: The public mask mandate does not require masks to be worn outdoors but does specifically recommend the use of social distancing. The risk of COVID exposure in an outdoor environment is low, but we recognize that for some people that any possibility of exposure warrants masking as a precaution. Face coverings are an obstacle to communication for people who are hearing or speaking impaired, as well as for people experiencing grief and anxiety. Anyone who has been in direct contact with an infected person, regardless of vaccination status, should wear masks in all public settings (indoor and outdoor) for a minimum of 3-5 days after their period of exposure. The CDC recommends an unvaccinated person also quarantine at home for 14 days after an exposure. Event organizers encourage attendees to wear a mask if it suits them, and we anticipate that attendees will also have reasons to vary their compliance with the mask mandate give the context of our gathering.
