Modern Men - Coachella Valley Men's Chorus proudly presents MOMENTUM (Proof of Vaccination, government ID, and Mask required) Modern Men - Coachella Valley Men's Chorus presents their first concert since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. We are excited about the music which features the World Premier of a new commission by Robert Seeley and based on the writings of Robert Espindola. NOTICE: You must bring proof of COViD-19 vaccination, matching government issued ID for admission to the performance. Masks must be worn at all times. Modern Men: Coachella Valley Men’s Chorus, based in Palm Springs, under Artistic Director Dr. Stan Hill, will present a new composition specifically commissioned for their performance at GALA Festival 2020 in July 2020 in Minneapolis. Composed by Robert Seeley, with lyrics from the writings of Robert Espindola (1952-2016) and scored for men’s chorus, string quartet, piano and oboe, the work delivers a passionate perspective of the achievements of the LGBT movement and projects the MOMENTum of the dreams and aspirations of the future, inspired by the movement’s history. Inspired by the treasure trove of the writings, poems and lyrics left behind by Espindola, the rapturous music will lift every heart and spur the continuation of one of the most dramatic and important movements in history. This premiere work will be presented along with other important and inspiring compositions like Groundless Ground, I Can Fly, and Never Ever. Be the first to experience this world premiere! Modern Men – Coachella Valley Men’s Chorus promotes harmony through outstanding performances as we entertain and empower our audiences, and embrace diversity through community outreach. MODERN MEN is part of the growing cultural scene in the Coachella Valley. We are the fourth independent community chorus in the valley,and we welcome to our ranks all men in the Coachella Valley, who love to share their voices. Emerging out of the gay choral movementof the last thirty years, we are an inclusive chorus, that reflects our changing culture, where making great music and joining togethersocially around a positive ideal, transcends human differences.
