Illinois Cannabis Dispensary License Social Equity Applicants, discover the importance of Property Ownership/Zoning. This workshop will discuss key factors when choosing a location – including proximity to residential uses (neighborhoods), schools, and other operations that are not typically thought of as "compatible with" cannabis use (i.e., churches, community centers, day care facilities, drug rehabilitation-treatment centers, public parks, etc.). Additional topics that will be covered will also include the different Zoning Classifications wherein cannabis operations are allowed, and those wherein they are strictly prohibited. Finally, the general Special Use (Zoning) Criteria and a explanation of the craft operating procedures that will be deemed compatible and harmonious with the Neighborhood within which one is locating, as well as the importance of Community Engagement. Open to Illinois Social Equity Applicants. To qualify as a Social Equity Applicant, you must qualify under one of the below criteria: 1) Applicant is an Illinois Resident and and is at least 51% owned and controlled by one for more individuals who have resided for at least 5 of the preceding 10 years in a "disproportionate impacted area" 2) Applicant is an Illinois Resident and is at least 51% owned and controlled by one or more individuals who have been arrested for convicted of, or adjudicated delinquent for any offense made eligible for expungement Public Act 101-0027. 3) Applicant is an Illinois Resident and is at least 51% owned and controlled by one more individuals who had a parent, legal guardian, child, spouse dependent, or was a dependent of an individual who, prior to June 25 2019, was arrested for convicted of, or adjudicated delinquent for any offense made eligible for expungement by Public Act 101-0027 4 )Applicant is an Illinois Resident with a minimum of 10 Full-Time employees and at least 51% of those employees currently reside in a "disproportionate impacted area", have been arrested for, convicted of, or adjudicated delinquent for any offense made eligible for expungement for Public ACT 101-0027, or have had a parent, legal guardian, child, spouse, dependent, or was a dependent for an individual who, prior to June 25, 2019, was arrested for, convicted of, or adjudicated delinquent for any offense made eligible for expungement by Public Act 101-0027. Please join us for our other sessions that will be held in open-forum format, small group settings and as one-on-one consultations. Overview sessions are open to all and Small group workshops and one-one consulting are only for those who qualify as social equity applicants. This is a grant funded program. Oakton Community College is obligated to report the names of participants in these sessions to the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunities (DCEO). The DCEO will be measuring the effectiveness of this program by monitoring students’ social equity and dispensary license application status.
