Description

Grow Greater Englewood Launches its TYrone Talks Series to Celebrate the 2021 Chicago Architecture Biennial! Join us to celebrate the 2021 Chicago Architecture Biennial with the launch of Grow Greater Englewood's TYrone Talks series, a public space to convene community stewards, researchers, organizers, and artists to present "ideas from the Hood for the Hood.” The talks will be filmed and edited similar to TED Talks and are an avenue to reclaim lost knowledge and discover new learnings. Hear from our powerful speakers and stay to learn more about the Englewood Village Plaza, a Chicago Architecture Biennial Community Site, get produce, food, and goods from local Black and Brown farms and businesses, and sample Half Acre Beer’s Grow Greater Englewood IPA! A portion of proceeds from this beer benefit the Englewood Village Farms collective. Our TYrone Talks Speakers: Erika Allen, Co-Founder & CEO–Operations for Urban Growers Collective, President of Green ERA Educational NFP, and Co-Owner of Green Era Sustainability Partners David Brown, Chicago designer, researcher, and educator; Professor in the School of Architecture at the University of Illinois at Chicago; and Artistic Director of the 2021 Chicago Architecture Biennial This program is supported by Xfinity.
