MCC’s Creative Writing Forum returns with a 1-day event on October 23, 2021
"(Re)Invention" will invite speakers to address the use of concrete tools of research, characterization, irony, prosody, and more to find inspiration for a new project or breathe new life into a project that’s stalled
Featured presenters: Aimee Molloy, Iva-Marie Palmer, and Teri Youmans
After writing all day, participants will enjoy a reading by Nebraska State Poet, Matt Mason.
An open mic will follow.
**As we celebrate the relaunch of our Creative Writing Forum, MCC’s Creative Writing program is hosting a writing contest to be judged by our featured presenters: Aimee Molloy, Iva-Marie Palmer, and Teri Youmans. 2 submitters will be awarded a tuition scholarship worth 4.5 ECH that can be used for any Arts & Humanities course at MCC. We welcome all genres and forms! Prose submissions must be no more than 3000 words (1 story or essay); Poetry no more than 3 pages (up to 3 poems). The deadline to submit for this scholarship contest is October 20th. Winners will be announced at the Forum.**
