Join us for a fun workshop where participants will have the opportunity to make their own floral headpiece. Flower Crown Workshop Oct. 04, 2021 at 6pm. Masks will be required for all who participate in Día de los Muertos in-person indoor offerings, including vaccinated visitors. Masks are strongly encouraged for our outdoors offerings, with the exception of our “Candle-light Procession” which will be a masked event for all participants. Join us for a Flower Crown Workshop. The workshop is taught by returning instructor Judith Pozos. In this workshop, you will learn which blooms and foliage work best for a headpiece. You will learn tips and techniques to properly construct this type of design traditionally worn by Catrinas.Participants are invited to bring their own embellishments to further personalize their headpiece. Space is limited so make sure to reserve your spot! No walk-ins. La Catrina Art Workshops series is inspired by The Day of the Dead. Your participation will help fund the Sherman Heights year round activities including free arts & culture programming. For more information please call (619) 232-5181 About our workshop Instructor: Judith Pozos Judith Rangel-Pozos has volunteered at the Sherman Heights Community Center for many years. She has helped the center with their monthly food bank and is a member of the Day of the Dead steering committee. Judith's dedication and passion for arts and crafts, has contributed to the growth of our Day of the Dead Celebration. She has helped with our community altar, the procession, and leading workshops such as “Los Nichos” and Flower Crowns. Judith is a wife and mother to two boys. The mission of the Sherman Heights Community Center is to foster community through education, health promotion, cultural enrichment and personal development.
